In Spain the buying and conveyancing of Property can be far simpler than in the UK and is often be completed within six to ten weeks.
A Spanish resale property is normally secured by signing a reservation contract and paying a three thousand Euro holding deposit (approximately £2000) at the time of acceptance of offer.
As in the UK a Solicitor (Qualified Spanish Solicitors are known as Abogados) will be appointed to act on your behalf.
Completion in Spain is generally in around 8 weeks and must, according to Spanish Law be witnessed by a qualified Notary. At the point of completion the balance will be paid to the vendor in full. A Spanish mortgage is often raised to facilitate the purchase, this will also usually be disbursed by the Notary.
